‘Instead of contextualizing the VFX for the story, he contextualizes the story for the VFX.’ — This has happened in many places in the movie.
This also reminds me of an interview where someone (forgot who) says how Shankar begins conceptualising the scenes with a visual while Rajamouli begins with an emotion. This is very evident in the movie. The emotional aspect where the audience is moved/ inspired is very scarce in this movie, imho.
Personally for me, the scenes when Rajini’s negative shades were teased were memorable. Shankar has himself raised the bar so high for ‘wowness’ that this film, again imho, fails to clear the wow bar.
